Head of Data Science

Dystematic is a fast growing FinTech looking to change the way the finance industry works with data.

We are a multi-disciplinary team with a unique combination of expertise across Data Science, Quant Research, Data Engineering, Design and Business Development. This allows us to provide world class products that combine robust quantitative techniques with financial domain expertise to deliver unique and innovative solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of in-house analytics processes for different asset classes
• Conduct research and statistical analysis
• Work with large data sets, including unconventional data sources, to predict and test statistical market patterns
• Backtesting, optimisation and scenario analysis using different types of data (flow, fundamental, prices, etc)
• Contribute to an “automation first” philosophy, using infrastructure-as-code tools

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong knowledge of probability and statistics (e.g. machine learning, time-series analysis, pattern recognition, NLP)
• Expert understanding of using quantitative tools for portfolio construction and risk management
• Excelling programming knowledge in Python
• Proficiency in creating and using algorithms to meticulously investigate and work through large data or error-checking problems
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodology
• Ability to clearly communicate technical topics to a wide variety of audiences
• Advanced training in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or another highly quantitative field (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD degree)
